Travel & Entry Requirements
Immunizations & documentation: Determine what immunizations and documentation are necessary for your journey ahead of time, as each location may have its own set of requirements.
If you are relocating overseas, some criteria may differ based on where you are coming from, where you are going, when you booked, and when you travel.
Entry into the United States— If you are traveling to the United States with your pet, be aware that additional rules may apply depending on your country of origin. Failure to achieve these conditions might cause problems upon arrival and departure.
JetBlue does not permit dogs in the cargo hold; only within the cabin.
Taking Your Pet in the Cabin
Pet Size: We only accept small dogs and cats. No huge dogs of any type are allowed. Carrier Requirement: The pet must be in an authorized carrier and will be treated as one personal item. The pet will be admitted on a first-come, first-served basis and must fit beneath the seat in front of you.
Carrier Purchase: A credit card is required to purchase a pet carrier at the T5 Ticket Counter at JFK John F. Kennedy International Airport. Otherwise, you can arrange for an acceptable pet carrier.
Pet comfort: Only one pet per carrier is allowed, and they must have enough room to turn around, lie down, and sit comfortably.
Regulations for the pet carrier: The pet must remain inside the carrier at all times whether on airport grounds or during the trip.
Buy an Extra Seat: The pet carrier must still fit under the seat during taxiing, takeoff, and landing, but it can be placed on the seat during the flight if you purchase an extra seat.
Blue Basic Fare: If you travel on a Blue Basic fare ticket on or before September 5, 2024, your pet carrier and one personal item are permitted. On or after September 6, 2024, you can bring a carry-on bag in addition to your pet carrier and one personal item.
How You Book Your Pet
Booking Options: You may book your pet online at jetblue.com, using the JetBlue app, or directly with JetBlue.
Cost: The in-cabin pet cost is $125 per trip.
Pet Limit: Each client may bring up to two pets, but each pet requires a carrier, an extra seat, and a cost.
Flight Pet Limit: Six pets are permitted each flight, so book early. Mint Service does not allow pets. No dogs are permitted in exit rows, bulkhead seats, or any seat without under-seat storage. Interline/Codeshare reservations do not permit pets.
Unaccompanied Minors: Pets are not permitted if the minor travels alone.
